Carolina Solar Energy, LLC (CSE) is a renewable energy company that specializes in the development and construction of utility scale commercial photovoltaic (PV) solar distributed energy projects in the US.

To be the low cost developer in PV solar, CSE operates with an efficient in-house staff that leverages sub contractor relationships that CSE CEO Richard Harkrader developed since the 1980s in his general contracting and real estate development businesses.  Our demonstrated skills sets include project financing, system design, technology procurement, project construction and operations management. CSE operates with an efficient, small in house staff and leverages extensive sub contractor relationships that CSE CEO Richard Harkrader has developed since the 1980s in his general contracting and real estate development businesses. CSE and its team of engineers, designers, and sub contractors are dedicated to reducing the cost of installing renewable energy systems to a level its projects can compete with other generation technologies – grid parity.

We are committed to working closely with Investor-Owned Electric Utilities, Electric Membership Cooperatives (EMC), City-Owned Municipal Utilities and large commercial enterprises that want to purchase solar-generated electricity and/or solar Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).

CSE’s solar projects align the interests of investors, utilities and large commercial energy users and reduce financial risks to deliver successful renewable energy projects.

CSE’s management team is versed in renewable energy certificate (REC) markets and a wide variety financing structures designed to meet client financial objectives including, monetizing Federal and State tax credits, leasing, equity and debt models.   Available government grant and incentive programs are leveraged to deliver maximum income and ROI.
