Carolina Solar Power

In September of 2011, Carolina Solar Energy completed construction of a 1.25 Mega Watt (MWdc) solar photovoltaic (PV) plant on a site adjacent to the 650 KWdc Persona County Solar Park 1 at the Person County Business and Industrial Center near Roxboro, N C.

King Brothers Electric Company, and TROSA subcontracted with CSE and were an integral part of the construction and commissioning process. The PV solar generator occupies about 7 acres at the intersection of HWY 501 and Crown Blvd just south of Roxboro. The system uses 5380 High Efficiency Yingli 235/230 WATT polycrystalline PV Solar modules and will generate approximately 1,640,000 kilowatt-hours in the first year.

The energy that the Person County Solar Park 2 produces is sold to Progress Energy Carolinas for distribution to its customers.
