In 2017, Carolina Solar Energy began working on this project in Iredell County. In 2019, we partnered with Ecoplexus, Inc., another solar company with an office here in Durham, to bid Olin Creek into the City of Charlotte, NC’s request for proposals for solar energy projects to meet a large portion of the City’s electricity use. Our joint bid won the RFP, and in 2020 Olin Creek became the largest US city to acquire large-scale solar through a green tariff (Duke Energy’s Green Source program.)
