In November 2009 Carolina Solar Energy partnered with the City of Raleigh to build a 255 kWdc solar farm at the EM Johnson Water Treatment Plant off Falls of the Neuse Rd. in Raleigh, NC. The installation is comprised of 3400 panels on Schletter ballasted racking and produces approximately 346,500 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which is sold to Duke Energy Progress for distribution to its customers.

The project was constructed with the help of subcontractors King Brothers Electric Company and TROSA on the roof of a 117,000 sq. ft. enclosed concrete structure that holds clear treated drinking water for the City of Raleigh.
